Hi, what are you looking for?
The Kent Food Bank is available to Kent residents who are in need of assistance to meet their daily nutritional needs. It is open on Fridays from 10am-12pm. (Please contact Social Services director Samantha Hasenflue at 860-927-1586 to verify any change in schedule or hours.)The Food Bank is made possible due to the support of the Kent Community Fund and the commitment of a dedicated team of volunteers. Donations can be dropped off on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Food Bank site or by contacting Social Services and making an appointment.
Delays and closings: Whenever the Kent Center School (Region One) is closed due to bad weather the Food Bank will also be closed. On days that there is a delay in school opening, the Food Bank will open at 10:30am. Delays and closings are announced on any CT television channels 8, 3 & 30 and radio stations WTIC, WZBG, WHDD, WSBS, & WDAQ/WLAD.
What to expect: Complete a short intake form on the first visit. After that, sign in at the registration table, bring your own reusable shopping bags and then “shop” independently. Volunteers are available to assist with answering questions or carrying bags to cars. Food options change weekly dependent upon donations/deliveries from CT Foodshare.
If you are working or homebound, please contact the Kent Social Services office at 860-927-1586 or email them at socialservices@townofkentct.org and they may be able to add your household to the delivery list.
