Over the past seven years, the show has raised more than $10,000 for Great Hollow Nature Preserve. Artists are invited to submit up to four digital images of two-dimensional work for the competition.

The artwork should highlight the richness of the rural nature in and around Great Hollow and should not have previously been part of a Great Hollow Art Show. Prizes will be donations from local businesses.

Jurors for the artwork are Ned Reade for painting and Lori Adams for photography.

The opening reception is on Friday, May 16, 6-8 p.m. and all are welcome. The show will continue through Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., in the Gate House Barn at Great Hollow. The show will be online from May 16-June 30. The deadline for submission is midnight on Monday, April 15.

Accepted media are photographs, paintings, collages, drawings and digitally augmented art. There is no fee to submit. The hanging fee for the show is $15 for each accepted work and the Great Hollow Photographers Club will retain a 25 percent commission on all works sold during the show.

All works must be for sale as the profits from the art show support Great Hollow Nature Preserve’s mission of environmental education, research, and conservation.

Juror Ned Reade is a painter, teacher and gallery owner. He paints in oils and watercolors and is the former chairman of the arts department at the Trinity-Pawling School, a private secondary school, where he taught art and art history for forty-five years.

Lori Adams is a fine art photographer who does portrait, event, commercial and advertising photography as well as teaching photography. She has taught photography for 10 years at the college level.

This art show is done in collaboration with the Sherman Artists Association, which hosts the show on its website and provides fiscal and administrative services to the Great Hollow Photographers Club.
