Christmas Tree Sales Suffer from Weeks of Sodden Weather

KENT—The herculean efforts to stage the annual Christmas tree sale at St. Andrew’s Church resulted in lower-than-average sales, but still provided a beacon of light in the Yuletide landscape of the village.

While 181 trees were sold, sales were undercut by wet and windy weather that kept shoppers away on four consecutive weeks before Christmas. The church reported that it made $4,000 and did not lose money.

St. Andrew’s now has a newly updated Parish Directory to reflect its new parishioners and the many changes since the last directory was published. Those who would like a couple should stop by the parish office or email to have a directory mailed.
